Our Cleaning Process

What we do and how we do it!

1. Planning

A thorough and detailed pre-cleaning assessment is required to identify any fire and hygiene hazards, as well as allow us to quote you appropriately for the amount of work required.

Our technician will do a thorough inspection of your exhaust hood and duct system. This inspection process will audit the number of fans and the location of the access panels, so we can assess how easy (or not) it will be to thoroughly clean the entire exhaust system. They will also assess the thickness of the grease inside the exhaust hood to assess the urgency of the clean.

To ensure minimum disruption to service, prevent contamination to food products, and to allow for an unobstructed clean, our technician will also advise the best time for the cleaning to occur, based on the amount of work involved. This will be at a time suitable for the venue, ideally before or after service.

2. Pre-Cleaning

Strategic assessment of the areas which need the most focus allows us to ensure the areas most susceptible to grease and debris build up are thoroughly cleaned. The areas of our main focus include:

> Exhaust Hood interior

> Duct system

> Exhaust Fans

By focusing on these areas the risk of fire hazards is significantly reduced, and the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen is improved.

3. Deep Cleaning

The cleaning of the exhaust system required hard work and the use of specialised equipment. We will clean your exhaust system using the following methods:

     > Degreasing: Using a wide variety of chemicals (dependent on the surface), the grease is broken down and removed

     > Steam Cleaning: Allows us to access hard-to-reach areas and remove stubborn grease and grime

     > Scrubbing: Manual scrubbing will remove the remaining grease, carbon and debris from the system.

     > Ductwork Cleaning: Using specialised tools and access points, we clean the duct system, further reducing fire hazards.

Care is taken throughout the cleaning process to maintain safety and limit excess mess, and to not cause damage to any part of the kitchen's ventilation system.

Our goal is to restore the exhaust system to it's optimum condition resulting in a more efficient ventilation system which will increase air quality, reduce fire & hygiene hazards and be more cost effective to run.

4. Reporting & Compliance

Compliance checks are completed after every clean to ensure the cleanliness of the exhaust system and ensuring the work meets fire safety and food hygiene standards. The equipment will be checked to make sure it is functioning correctly, and to pick up any missed spots or potential damage incurred during the cleaning process.

Our technician will provide a report after the work is complete, for you to keep on-hand for the health inspector or insurance company. This report will detail the frequency the exhaust system should be cleaned to maintain its compliance, before and after photos, detailed observations and/or recommendations.

Certification is also provided to demonstrate the exhaust system has been professionally cleaned.

If possible our technician will go through what they did and show you the cleaned system. This will allow time for queries or concerns before we leave the premises.
